This week's Tavern Brawl is Nefarian Rises, another co-op Tavern Brawl. You'll be playing as Anduin or Morgl with pre-built decks.

Unlike Unite Against Mechazod, Blizzard has structured the Nefarian encounter like a raid in World of Warcraft, right down to the neutral cards.

Special Neutral Cards: Freewheeling Skulker, Intrepid Dragonstalker, Main Tank, Raid Healer, Alms of Light
Special Priest Cards: Shadow or Light?, Twisted Light
Special Shaman Cards: Elemental Eruption
Nefarian's Cards: Cleave, Explosive Rune, Flame Missiles, Immolate, Explosive Rune, Bamboozle
Enraged Nefarian Cards: Cleave, Explosive Runes, Flame Missiles, Immolate

Tips and Tricks

  • Nefarian is unable to be targeted by spells and you must use minions to take him down.
  • Nefarian will enrage at 160 health. He gains 5 attack and casts Elemental Eruption to try to clear the board.
  • Nefarian will enrage again at 60 health. He gains another 5 attack, casts Twisted Light and upgrading his cards. Because Twisted Light deals 30 damage to all minions, don't commit more minions to the board if you're going to push him to 60 health, unless they will somehow survive the attack.
  • Just like Unite Against Mechazod, Nefarian requires a space on the board. If no space is available, he'll make sure that he has room by destroying your entire board.
  • Explosive Runes only have 3 health and Taunt, so you should aim to kill them whenever possible. 9 damage can be a lot of damage, especially with Nefarian's other spells.
  • Fjola Lightbane and Stoneskin Gargoyle are great cards to get buffed by Divine Spirit and Inner Fire. Alternatively, create a large minion before Nefarian hits 60 health as it makes the last phase much easier.
