Swap stories with fellow shifters at the tavern's Shifter Convention! Choose a class. We'll fill your deck with Shifters and spells.

General Information

  • You will earn a Classic Card Pack for winning your first game in this Tavern Brawl!

  • This Brawl debuted as the 55th Brawl on June 29, 2016. This is the third time we see this Brawl. Last time we've seen it on October 19, 2016.

  • The Brawl has pre-made decklists - you don't have to build your own deck. You choose a class and get a randomized deck-list.

Strategy Information

  • Your deck list is full of copies of Shifter Zerus with some random class spells in between. Each player starts with 3 mana crystals.

  • The Brawl, just like many other featuring RNG cards, has very random outcomes. There is not much strategy to discuss - you just have to hope that you will get good minions from Shifter Zerus to play on curve.

  • When it comes to the class choice, Mage is probably the best one in Brawls like that, since the Hero Power can help with getting the board control and Mage has one of the highest quality class spells. Alternatively, you can also pick Warlock if you're aiming for a longer game - even though the spells aren't as good, the Hero Power means that you won't run out of cards when your opponent might.

  • Remember that the turn you draw Shifter Zerus, it's only a 1 mana 1/1 - so it's generally recommended to not play it and wait until it changes into something.

  • As for the mulligan, we'd recommend keeping as many Shifters as possible. Since they take a turn to change, having as many in your starting hand as possible will increase your chance for a good curve. You can also keep some good, early game spells - like small removal, cheap, but strong buffs (e.g. Power Word: Shield).

  • It's not always worth to play a minion even if you can! For example, if you get some bad minion (e.g. a 2/1 1-drop that your opponent can just ping), it will be wise to pass on it and wait for another roll. Similarly, when your hand is getting empty, you shouldn't play a cheap minion, but instead wait to get something more valuable (like a big drop or minion that draws cards).
