If you have any effects, they are calculated BEFORE Prophet Velen's doubling effect.

Card text on all cards are not modified in any manner by the presence of Prophet Velen. You have to double the numbers yourself.
The doubling effect of Velen on
will double the number of missiles,
double the damage per missile. This is consistent with the way Spell Damage works on these 2 spells.
Warlock players beware! If gain control of Prophet Velen by
Mind Control Tech
or some other means, your
will deal 4 damage to yourself instead of 2! Velen will also double the damage of Hunter and Mage hero powers, and has no effect on the hero powers of the other 6 classes.

Having two of this card (using mind control against another priest) will double the power that's already doubled. a good example would be making your lesser heal go from 2, to 4, to 8 health. it also works with the shadowform ability too.
At least he can punch Jarraxus (eredar lord of the Burning Legion) in the face for being corrupted,
also he has badass card effect.
Could have some interesting effects if played with stolen spells cards from enemies.

Anyone know how this card stacks with spellpower? It is doubled first and then spellpower is added? Or vice versa?
Ok this card is TOO strong ... a 7/7 for 7 with SUCH A MASSIVE impact on the game... thats just too ridiculous for it to be this cheap.

Don't even me started on
... ,If you manage to save up
on the 10th turn you can throw out

for 20 damage (probably not likely to happen ... but it can happen!)!

A warlock used
Mind Control Tech
on my Velen and ended up dealing 4 damage to himself when he activated his Hero Ability (he still only drew 1 card). Keep such things in mind when playing vs one of these.
So... in case anyone is wondering, if you happen to have two Velens, Velen's effect is CUMULATIVE. This is especially useful in circumstances where you've already played Shadowform. To wit, Mind Spike hits for 8 dmg at a cost of 2 mana.
The reason I found this out is that a priest I was playing against Thoughtstole (sp?) Velen from my deck, and I MC'd it. On the next turn I played my Velen that I drew, and did 8 dmg with my hero power! OP.

the following turn. The +16 health to my hero totally turned the tide of the battle in my favor.

This card is interesting in theory, difficult in practice. His power is certainly impressive, doubling all damage and healing you do. But the thing is he's a Priest card. Their big removal spells use and two of their damage spells are expensive, the other two being
, which are pretty awesome combos you can do in a single turn.
Circle of Healing
also combos well. 8 healing on all minions on the board is nothing to sneeze at. Those are preferable in a Velen deck because your other two damage spells cost 5 & 6 mana meaning you would need him to live and keep his card text a single turn to get some truly powerful plays from him. 7 health puts him above direct damage spells so at least you will most likely get a 2 for 1 trade if your opponent has an answer assuming no instant kills.
Velen looks to be best played when you know you've baited out your opponent's big creature killers and he can thus survive for one turn or if you happen to have your inexpensive damage/heal spells or hero power ready to go. Silence will still leave a beefy 7/7 on the board so that's not be a game changing loss.
I wish Velen would increase the heals of all cards (so things like Voodoo Doctor and Zombie Chow are affected), so you could Velen + Auchenai + 2 Zombie Chows. 20 damage to your opponent :)
This card is amazing in so many ways, but it can be *very* hard to take advantage of. Any opponent you wouldn't have steamrolled anyway will see Heaven and Earth laid to waste before they let this card survive for a turn, because they know what's coming next if they do. That means that Velen usually won't have a very large effect on the game unless you've baited out all of an opponent's useful removal *and* he's entering a board you already thoroughly control anyway.
Building and playing a deck to take advantage of him is very tricky, because you're going to want to save even your cheap burn spells until after he's resolved, but you're going to need them to maintain board control because a big chunk of your deck is going to consist of them.
It's a very slow card but if you manage to hold him more than a round your enemy is sure that he lost and never trust old people with rods, kids.
