Equip a 5/3 Ashbringer.
If you haven't heard the Tirion Fordring theme song, it's because it doesn't exist.
This card is used in
40.45% of all Paladin decks
Strong ability and a strong Deathrattle. A very nice card.
"This is our final stand. What happens here will echo through the ages. Regardless of outcome, they will know that we fought with honor. That we fought for the freedom and safety of our people. Remember heroes, fear is your greatest enemy in these befouled halls. Steel your heart and your soul will shine brighter than a thousand suns. The enemy will falter at the sight of you. They will fall as the light of righteousness envelops them! Our march upon Icecrown Citadel begins now!" - Tirion Fordring
I only clicked this to see Tirion pics. <3 Lord Ashbringer Fordring.
Ahh, I'd love to see Tirion wearing nothing but the Ashbringer...
Triggering the deathrattle effect of Tirion Fordring will essentially allow you to take up the fallen paladin's sword and hack your enemies into next Tuesday with it.
Knowing this, it's a good idea to also have
in your deck (play it
carefully) to bring him back into play, as it has been confirmed by either CM Zeriyah or Phenteo (I'll edit with the post when I find it) that resurrected minions DO trigger their deathrattle effects
when they die
, so you'd have another chance at getting another
Also a good idea to have
on standby to bring Tirion up to a good amount of health and not have his second-time-around deathrattle triggered too soon, if you already have an Ashbringer equipped.
Addendum: After reading the current latest blue posts
I would say BEWARE OF
Another Addendum: Blizzard has confirmed in several posts that if your hand is full,
cards that are pulled into it from your deck or from the board, etc, are counted as "extra card" and automatically are discarded, so if your hand is full, keep Tirion alive for a bit longer and trim your hand down by playing a couple of cards (if the situation is advantageous for it, of course) so that you don't lose that
When he's summoned, he enters the battlefield to a great heroic tune from the
Call to Arms
theme. It really punctuates that you have just summoned one of the biggest badasses in Warcraft history.
Oh, and he adds in a non-mechanic battlecry aswell, because what is a badass without a battlecry?
Put your faith in The Light!
Here's hoping you pull one of these from your opponent's hand using
Acidic Swamp Ooze
Okay, I am going to be
This guy really sucks and I regret ever putting him in my deck at one point.
The odds of him not being instantly murdered, removed, or mind controlled is slim to none. Only once did I have the pleasure of not having his death rattle be removed and the card worthless for its cost, and that game he didn't even die so I didn't get the chance to hit people with the ashbringer.
He has low HP and damage compared to his cost, his deathrattle is in 99% of cases useless because he will just be silenced, taunt and divine shield are removed upon silence as well.
He's an expensive 6/6 creature in most scenarios and he has a high chance of never hitting anything because at 8 mana most classes has a way to remove him or make him useless.
This flavor text is pretty Legendary though. He really does need a theme song though.
This card has the best flavor text in the game in my opinion!
Every time I read this flavor text I giggle a bit, kind of funny though he surely qualifies for a theme song!
So... I just got this bad boy in Golden version...
Best day ever. First of all, this is the only chance you'll get at a golden-tier weapon (for now) also legendary? YUM!
So...is he a 1/3 without the ashbringer? His true identity revealed as a Northshire cleric!
Kind of funny that Tirion Fordring would be a paladin specific legendary card when it was Uther the Lightbringer who had to remove Tirion from the paladin order and attempted to strip him of his light based powers due to the court of Lordaeron accusing Tirion of treason.
Easily handled as a mage. Opponent plays Tirion. Step One:
. Step Two:
. Step Three: Watch Opponent cry.
Poly can be cast on the target with Divine Shield on it, no need to waste resources popping it. Poly will also neutralize the Deathrattle. And you'll still most likely have at least two mana remaining.
The most overpowered piece of ^&*!ing bull%^&* in the game after mind control
This card is extremely usefull, it has both taunt, divine shield and death rattle, the best counter would be to silence him and then instantly kill with a spell tough having that luck is rare.
i recall a game where i used
Defender of Argus
which resulted in
getting killed by
, i ended up getting control of
which died later and granted me
, funny fact since i was playing a warlock and now wielding a 2 handed sword XD
The Tirion Fordring themesong goes:
Well you can't really make it out here but trust me, it's badass.
Too bad Bernard Hill (who voiced him in WoW) doesn't for Hearthstone. He has such a cool voice. But I guess getting a well known actor like him in just for 3 lines would be a bit much...
Has anyone ever tried to faceless a Tirion Fordring and see if they get the weapon when it dies? Would be funny to see a Mage or Warlock with a weapon.
will bypass the shield and kill Tirion, but it will also trigger his Deathrattle and the paladin will get to equip the weapon.
In constructed you need to run a silence just for this guy.
No silence and he probably 6-for-1's you.
Very nice legendary.
One possible disadvantage — costs 8 mana — that means it is played in a late game, and Paladin may have not enough health to hit with
But you may (if you have
, I think you should) have
Lay on Hands
and with these cards Tirion Fordring is really effective; taunt under Divine Shield can give you 2-3 turns to survive for these healing cards draw.
One of the
overpowered legendaries in the game. It is essentially a 14 mana value (stats, divine shield, Ashbringer) for 8 mana. Though of course it can be silenced, however even then it retains 6hp and 6dmg.
that music is awesome
He's amazing, but silence hurts him so much. Make reasonably sure your opponent isn't waiting with an Ironbeak Owl, Earth Shock or Mass Dispel when you play this.
i want to know the song that plays when you summon Tirion but at this point i'm too afraid to ask :l
