This is of course
from ToC in card form.
Based on what was shown in the preview video showing a warlock vs druid game, playing this card will replace your hero with Jaraxxus. You will have 15 health, 3 attack in the form of
as your hero power.
When playing this card, Jaraxxus will shout his aggro line from the raid, "You face Jaraxxus, eredar lord of the Burning Legion!", and do to you what he did to the
last unfortunate guy
who tried to summon and controll him.
All of this is (naturally) subject to change by the time Hearthstone launches.
You face Jaraxxus!
AGHHHHHHHHHH TRIFLING GNOME, YOU NOW FACE JARAXXUS!
You face Jaraxxus! Eredar Card of the Burning Legion!
YOU FACE JARAXXUS, EREDAR LORD OF THE TRIFLING GNOME!
The best description for this card:
When you play this, you are legally required to yell "AAAARGH! TRIFLING ! YOUR ARROGANCE SHALL BE YOUR UNDOING!" then destroy your hero, drop Jaraxxus and call out "YOU FACE JARAXXUS, EREDAR LORD OF THE BURNING LEGION!"
And of course yell "INFERNO!" every time you use his hero ability.
"You destroy your TRIFLING GNOME and replace him with LORD JARAXXUS, EREDAR LORD OF THE BURNING LEGION!"
His voiceover quotes, after destroying your hero & becoming
Eredar Warlock Lord of Hearthstone Card Obliteration:
You win... BUT YOUR WORLD IS STILL DOOMED!
You face Jaraxxus
My deck! IT'S RUNNING OUT OF CARDS!
NOOOOO! I'M OUT OF CARDS!
JARAXXUS IS... sorry.
How shall I destroy you...
TIME RUNS OUT!
TOO MANY MINIONS.
CAN'T DO THAT.
TOO MANY CARDS!
I ALREADY ATTACKED.
IT JUST GOT HERE!
THAT THING ALREADY ATTACKED.
NOT ENOUGH MANA!
WHERE DID MY WEAPON GO?
CAN'T PLAY THAT.
THAT TAUNT MINION IS IN MY WAY!
This is Ben Brode's favorite card. He's quite fanatic. When Zeriyah the Community Manager asked what his favorite card was he simply replied ''Jaraxxus''. When she asked why he just yelled ''JARAXXUS'' and left the room.
Ben Brode's favorite card is Jaraxxus because Jaraxxus.
(Ben Brode is a developer in the Hearthstone team and he POSSIBLY has the best voice in the team.)
Jaraxxus remains a valid target of
after he's replaced
. Be wary playing him against another warlock.
But I'm in charge hee----
*Your Hero has been destroyed*
YOU FACE JARAXXUS, YOU FACE JARAXXUS, EREDAR LORD OF THE BURNING LEGION!
(If I ever play this card, I'm totally gonna play that music every time)
Imagine if a Priest were to use
and nab a copy of this card.
Is Jaraxxus a valid target for "Destroy Target Minion" cards once he has replaced a hero?
Valid target for
as well. if you play him right after a Paladin plays
, his health will be reduced to 1.
Curious to see work on this guy... it doesn't replicate battlecries so you'd just get a big minion to try and defend yourself with?
For anyone who's unclear as to the power of this card: it is INSANE.
It has the power to turn around even the roughest of games. Play it just before your hero is defeated and jump back up to 15 health, with a ridiculous hero power (a new 6/6 Infernal for just 2 mana, every round) plus a 3 damage weapon. Thankfully there are a few counters to it (so I'm told... <_<) because otherwise it would be utterly game-breaking simply on the grounds of INSANITY.
The warlock himself is destroyed, but given that he is replaced with a far more powerful avatar who will most likely go on to completely decimate his opponent (and possibly the rest of the known universe shortly after that)... this is apparently one dark bargain the warlock is more than happy to enter into.
To be honest, even if it weren't incredibly powerful, this card would probably still be worth playing just for the soundbites. As it stands... I'm just grateful not all the warlocks have one yet ;)
You can summon him as a 3 15 with an alarmobot
When i first saw this card i really loved it! I mean so many people are calling this card to get nerfed on the forums (I hope it doesn't get nerfed, i really like it as it is.) We will see how will it be on the launch. I think with the control cards like
this is just the perfect finisher.
There exists a simple formula for calculating the percentage of Warlock decks which feature Lord Jaraxxus.
Step 1: Take the percentage of Warlock players who have Lord Jaraxxus.
its too good to have an elite demon.
You face Jaraxxus! Eredar Card of the Burning Legion!
I love the look of this card and the text is straight to the point of it this card just takes over and rules everything not played well it can put you in the dumpster but when played well can save you so many times and give you the extra couple of terms you need. As it's a legendary it looks awesome. Lord Jaraxus is by far the best card.
This card is a game-breaker. I have nearly decimated three warlocks now to the point where I am at full health and they are down to single digits. As soon as Jaraxxus is dropped, the tide turns. The 6/6 hero power infernal is very tough to cope with especially in the late stages of the game when options are running thin. Once HS launches, smart players will begin to take notice of the competency and style of their warlock opponents and prepare for this card to be present if you think the other guy appears to be worth his salt, as every serious lock will have a Jaraxxus. You need to treat the last 10 points of your opponent's HP as something to be eliminated in a single round of play. ~~Beta Comment~~
Does anybody know how this card works against
? Copied minions don't use battlecry so will I get Jaraxxus minion on board?
As of this time if you mind vision as a priest to get Jaxxarus and summon him, you get warlock experience for that game.
If you use
or other cards that restore health after you played Jaraxxus, hoping to get more than 15 health on him, be warned: they will not increase his maximum health, which is 15.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think this is the only card that uses the in-game voice acting from WoW instead of a do-over for it, (not that that's a bad thing; just stating the fact so people know!)
Jaraxxus comes with a weapon
(3 damge, 8 durability). Be careful: as any weapon, it can be destroyed by an
Acidic Swamp Ooze
or by Harrison Jones
Obscenely powerful. This can (and usually will) turn a losing match into a victory. His
has great attack and unreal durability, and his
will quickly overpower all but the most well-established opponent.
Best saved for when you have close to or under 15 HP, so as to maximize its life-saving power. Nothing is more frustrating than getting a Warlock down to 1 HP only to have him play Lord Jaraxxus and go back up to 15 HP. Be careful when planning on when to use Jaraxxus: waiting too long may result in a loss before you can play him.
Playing Jaraxxus will usually result in a win, but there are a few ways to counter it. At least one
Acidic Swamp Ooze
should be saved when facing a Warlock to counter a possible Jaraxxus weapon. The Infernals are particularly hard to counter because Jaraxxus can continuously play them every turn for an insanely low cost. Board control is a must when Jaraxxus comes into play, or it will most likely be a loss. Since Jaraxxus can only have up to 15 HP, he is somewhat vulnerable to being bursted down by high damage classes like Mages or Rogue. Not even Jaraxxus can save you from a Mage who saved her
and has the HP or minions to survive a few turns.
Overall, this is one of the most useful cards in the game, and should be in every Warlock's deck, regardless of playstyle.
That hero power is utterly absurd.
Fun to get as a priest with mindgames.
How does it work if it's played while the opponent has
Truly amazing card!
Had test it last night, in a tight fight, against a mage with 3 legendary's, and 4 epics ( Pyroblasts
is one of them - 10 damage to a hero in one card!), and well knowing his class and playing it very good, managed to win, even with less luck in card draw by my side (got very bad cards during almost whole match...)!
A, "must" have for locks'.
card that mage has - is overpowered, and
card (draw 4 cards) is as well - waaaay overpowered. You can have as a lock'
, but still against here mentioned two cards, can lose easily... No tactics can help You there.
Edit: Making links to cards...
So uhhh, does this card interact with Demonfire at all? A 2hp heal + 5 damage attack would be pretty sweet.
Does using a golden version of this card make the hero portrait golden? With a golden weapon, golden hero power, that summons golden infernals? Because I would pay 3200 dust for that.
I played priest and use thoughtsteal and i get a Jaraxxus. I win a match and game give me exp to warlock charakter xd
This card is absurdly gamebreaking since it lacks any disadvantages. One possible and useful constraint would be "you cannot play spells" or "you cannot summon any minions from your hand". The powerful weapon and the 6/6 minions for just 2 mana are obviously enough. :)
You can't play
if your side is full of minions, as he becomes briefly a minion himself before his battlecry kicks in and replaces your hero.
This card is 110% unbalanced, and that's all I have to say about it.
Jaraxxus needs to be fixed. He is the only minion, that can be hit by a secret, before his battlecry is activated.
Example - Snipe:
Snipe specifically says "minion".
When you play Jaraxxus, while snipe is active, the following happens:
He is placed on the battlefield, as a minion.
Snipe activates, and hits him(minion) for 4 damage.
Jarraxus(minion)'s battlecry activates.
Your hero is replaced by Jaraxxus, with a
health of 11.
"Destroy your hero and replace him with Lord Jaraxxus." So as we can see, if Jaraxxus the minion takes damage first, you have less health.
Battlecry happens after damage, happens after the secret is activated.
Makes no sense at all, when all other minions, activate their battlecries, before begin hit by a secret.
Yes it's fun, but there is no way for a player (Perhaps using Jaraxxus for the first time) to know, that his max health will become 1, if he plays Jaraxxus, against a Paladin with Repentence activated.
Also, he is unaffected by Sword of Justice :(
Lots of discussion about this, in this thread:
This card...Is the biggest load of horse *!@#! I could not believe how I was heavily winning a game, this 1 card turned it all around. I was a warrior against a warlock. My 24 health vs his 5, 3 minions on the board, 1 with taunt. He has one. In 1 turn he gained 10 health, destroyed one minion with his weapon, and next turn summoned an infernal and a taunt. I dragged it out, got him down to 4 health, but with a new 6/6 creature every turn, nearly for free, it's impossible to come back, even though I overwhelmingly won the game up until then.
1.Completely remove his weapon. This would be a good start, and he'd likely still be a little too powerful.
2.Make the hero power effective only ONCE for the rest of the game. A 6/6 minion EVERY turn for 2 mana is ridiculous.
3.Make it so that if he has more health, he is reduced to 15, if he has less than 15, his health stays where it's at.
Seriously. Biggest load of horse @#$% I've ever seen.
just see the power of
. it is really sad!
Beware of Paladins with Secrets.
will leave Jaraxxus with 1 HP.

do allow other classes to also change in to Jaraxxus!
Having the golden version of this card will give you a golden weapon, hero power and infernals.
Winning a Ranked match as Jaraxxus does not progress you total Warlock ranked wins count (possibly a bug)
Changing your Hero to Jaraxxus resets your hero's attack and hero ability for that turn, if you somehow have a weapon, you can swing, cast Jaraxxus then swing again.

If you get this card with Unstable Portal as a Mage, you may (on turn 9 if you have the coin, otherwise turn 10) use your mage hero power to ping something, then play Jaraxxus and use Jaraxxus's hero power to summon a 6/6 infernal in the same turn. The 2 hero powers do not share a cooldown.
