And this is part of why the Hearthstone Shaman is so cool. We'll get to use some of the totems that were removed, like
Wrath of Air
When you use this ability, you will summon one of the following four totems at random:
Wrath of Air Totem
You may only have one copy of each summoned totem on the board.
If you have already summoned all four totems, you will not be able to use this ability again until at least one of them is destroyed.
Blizzard CM Zeriyah states:
The Shaman Hero Power totem will spawn to the right of your minions on the board. Players are not able to control where a Shaman's Hero Power totem will spawn into play.
Something VERY important to keep in mind when strategising board placement, since this is a major element of play and of how effects which buff adjacent minions work.
An interesting advantage of this hero ability lies in it's limitations (-or rather, it's predictability.). Because you can only have one of each of Totemic Calls's totems in play at a time (Without the use of other mechanics.), you can use this to actively predict, or even control which totem is summoned next.
Simple examples of this are:
A board containing all four totems will prevent the use of Totemic Call, but this
mean that you can bump your
into a minion, and then predictably re-summon it if this will give you an advantage.
A full board of totems is also a stable defence against weak, or low presence boards.
will protect you from 2+ damage, and if other the totems are not destroyed, it can be re-summoned predictably every turn.
While it can be difficult to have all four down at once, it should be noted that if you're not looking to keep
on the board, Totemic Call may be used
it dies in order to assure you summon one of the other three.
(As a side note - While silenced totems do not have their effects, they can still be used in predicting which totem you summon next.)
To add/clarify, if you end up with one of the totems in your hand through the use of a "Return to Hand" card, they are not in play, and thus can still be summoned through Totemic Call before the second is played from your hand. However, playing the totem from your hand will still count as that totem in play, so the totem can be played before Totemic Call is used if you wish to narrow down the chances to get one of the other three.
After winning those 500 matches on Play Mode your hero card will turn Golden.
I think it turn your hero power golden too.
from the WoW TCG.
This is the only hero power in the game that has an element of randomness to it. The four totems are each fairly good cards, but the problem is it's very rare to have a deck that gets a good advantage from all four totems. A rush deck would love searing and stoneclaw, but Healing and wrath of air wouldn't be grand. So on and so forth for many things.
All in all, it's a solid power, but it's down to the luck of the draw sometimes, and makes shaman feel less in control than other classes, as you're much more reliant on getting lucky.
Summon a random Totem.
