Deal 5 damage to the enemy hero.
This spell blasts you directly in the MIND.
This card is used in
20.64% of all Priest decks
If playing a pvp match against a real person I LOVE saving these cards in my hand till when I get two, then you lower the enemy to 10 heath and bomb x2 +10 damage and they never see it coming! There are other instance damage cards you can add to this too and buy then you should have close to 10 crystals.
Anyone else find the golden version of this card disturbing? Like the gnomes brain is literally frying. Hmmm... now I am just hungry...
Gold versions unlocked at Priest Lv15 and 20.
All Gold cards marked as unlocked at Lv24 are incorrect, there is no reward for Lv24
Card info updated.
Probably most effective in rush decks as they won't help you clear minions.
of Hearthstone shows a mana cost of
average direct damage
Mana ≤ D-1
The "minus 1" originates of the additional card in your hand. Cards supporting this rule of thumb are:
. Often additional effect are added for the mana cost, like
. An exception of this rule are mage sorceries like
(1 cheaper) or priest
This card is under on the manacurve. Drawback: just on enemy hero - you have to beat him anyway! Nice damage to cost ratio!
What is the difference between the gold card and the normal card? As far as I can see there isn't any which is confusing me!
What's particularly great about this card is that late game you can drop it the same turn as Prophet Velen, which will double its damage output. It's one of only two Priest burn spells that can be played the same turn as Velen (the other being Holy Smite.)
This card is actually incredible.
Don't get me wrong--it's not going to help you clear out minions. And it
be helpful in rush decks, mostly because you want to get the enemy down to that 10-life-or-less point that Mages covet, because as one of the posts above mentions, they never expect it.
And it's true.
They never expect it.
Let's compare this card to
, which we see way more often. This is because Mages are built around board control, have lots of damage spells, and it's just generally better-known how effective that card is.
It costs ten mana. It costs ten mana and so you have to spend an entire turn on it, it hogs all of your resources, and you essentially get one shot with it (unless, for some reason, you run two of them).
But Mind Blast costs
mana. That's cheap. That's as cheap as a
, which has the connotation of dirt. cheap. For four mana, you get the
same base spell damage
. That's a lot of spell damage. And that's just base damage.
With the combination of
or any spell damage-raising card, you can easily bump that number up to 6, 7, 8, 9 damage
. I've taken opponents down from about 18-20 life to zero in one turn with this card. It's even easier with
around, who after two turns makes those Mind Blasts free.
This card is value.
