WHO DARES SUMMON ME?
Can someone explain to me a good situation in which someone would use this card? DESTROYING a mana crystal seems like an awfully big cost for playing a sen'jin shield one turn earlier.
What about using
and then destroying the crystal you get with it? Has anyone tried this yet?
His tooth shines in the golden version. This guy is a boss
He saies that he will enjouy watching you die however he has taunt so chances are he dies first.
This is an awful card. You're basically sacrificing a mana crystal in order to summon a Shieldmaster 1 turn sooner or for 1 mana less on a turn. There's no logic to this unless you drop this guy really late into the game and lose a crystal you probably won't use anyway. But dropping this early on is downright stupid. You'd have been better off just waiting 1 turn and using a 3/5 Shieldmaster. All this guy does is come out for 1 mana less; but the crystal you lose affects every turn afterwards, so you basically paid a lot more to get the same thing, just 1 turn sooner.
They should have made this work like Overload, and just deduct from next turn, not every next turn. Instead they made it a permanent Overload. Like most players, I have to say NTY. No one uses this thing, and it's for good reason.
If you play him on turn 3, he'll end up costing 10 mana. 3 immediately + you'll have 1 less than normally for next 7 turns. Seems like some ridiculous version of overload.
Using him on turn 9, will bring the cost on par with Shieldmasta, and from turn 10 on he has effectively zero downside, but by this time, you could be using stronger cards.
I think this guy really needs a buff.
One thing a lot of the comments are overlooking is that this card is a demon.
It will combo very well with
for the player that likes to put all of their eggs in one basket.
A turn four 5/7 is scary if the opponent lacks control.
Also, at 3/5 on turn 3, this guy will almost always go for 1:2 and help solidify an early lead.
To a lesser extent the only other 'demon' cards that this combos with are
. Almost not worth mentioning.
i think that this card can be good in some situation,
but those are pretty rare...
he can cost from 11 to 3 mana depending on the turn you play it (11 when using the coin turn 2)
for 3 mana it's realy good, for 4 mana it's a sheilmasta, and for the rest this card is pretty bad...
he can be easely remouved with sacrificial pact and shadow word pain...
also 5 damage is not that hard to get and even if you buff it with demonfire most of controls and agro deck deal with it...
if this card was a 4/4 with divine shield i would concider putting it in my deck,
but that's what i think of this card
can mitigate most demons' detrimental Battlecries, including this one's.
If you want to play this big guy from your hand..... don't. You'll probably want to use
to avoid the negative battlecry.
Pretty junk card to be honest.
Compared to shieldmasta:
In early game the mana crystal loss will hurt you darn badly later.
In late game yes, the mana crystal loss doesn't matter, but so doesn't the +1 mana cost for tazdingo.
IMO a small buff would justify it, but in its current state it's just a 3 mana tazdingo - a wild growth.
A mana crystal (wild growth) costs 2 mana and 1 card, so in fact this card costs 3 mana & discard a card & overload 2 - vastly inferior to 4 mana (shieldmasta) JUST to play it one turn sooner, and to be able to demonfire it. Nope.
