I really love how blizzard is taking things from in game and applying it to this card game so masterfully. It would only make sense for a trap to be undetectable by your opponent, so it's nice that they factored in all the minor details like that. I can't wait for hearthstone, blizz really did an awesome job with this.
thing that came to my mind was Samuel L. Jackson as the opponent, falling into this trap, saying,
"Enough is enough! I have had it with these m*****f***** snakes on this m*****f***** game!"
thought was that I would be too scared to play this game against Mace Windu.
This works amazingly when paired with
. Once the trap is triggered, you draw 3 cards.
If you wish to actually use the snakes that are summoned,
Unleash the Hounds
can be useful in getting them to at least 2 attack.
can have good synergy, if you can manage to devise a strategy to kill off all 3 snakes on the same turn you place it down. Combining it with the aforementioned Unleash the Hounds would make for a very painful Hyena.
There are many general cards that are useful for this, but these are the hunter-specific ones. :) One non-hunter specific one I've found useful is
. If you have 2 of those on the field, when you activate snake trap, the enemy will be bombarded by 6 hits for 1 on random targets.

To play BEFORE Snake Trap is Triggered:
Enemy minion attacks Starving Buzzard. When attacked it creates three beasts = 3 added cards.
There's the potential for great value here... up to a 9/5 combination (3/2 knife juggler + x3 1/1 snakes + x3 -1 daggers). Of course, there are all sorts of options they could use to reduce that value, but what other 4 mana combination can create that sort of potential?
To play IF your snakes survive:
That's the big IF about this card. Will they survive? A well placed Arcane Explosion or Whirlwind can unravel the greatest of plans. Also, this card seems better suited to be played when you're open has only 1 minion on the field rather then a swarm, so play accordingly... Or... feel free to enlighten. ; )
It creates the potential to ramp up your Ghoul by +6 next turn. Example: 3 snakes hit into a 3/3 which creates 6 different instances of damage to pump up the ghoul.
Similar to the Ghoul only ramps up by +3 / +3.
Dire Wolf Alpha
One wolf has the potential for ramping up damage from 3 to 6 (in the case of the Dire Wolf, at least one of the snakes would have to be traded to accomplish this).
Ideally, I think it would be a good bet to play the snake trap and something else on turn 4 (i.e. Knife Juggler or Starving Buzzard) especially if they only have 1 minion out. If they trade, you have a chance at a turn 5 giant.
A Complimentary Card:
Unleash the Hounds:
These two cards don't synergize as much as compliment each other in a deck. All of the synergizing cards for Snake Trap would seem to work for Unleash the Hounds as well. Example: 4 opponent minions + 4 hounds = free giant + some board clear. The difference is Unleash the Hounds is better with dealing with Swarm Scenario's (i.e. Warlock Early Swarm Decks) where Snake Trap can trick someone into a trading disadvantage who has one larger mid-game minion on the field (i.e. a 4/5 Chillwind Yeti) and a sense that they have a trading advantage (i.e you sacrifice a 2/3 minion for them to take the bait).
If Snake Trap is triggered by a minion attacking Knife Juggler, and the attack is powerful enough to kill it, what exactly happens?
Does Juggler's ability fire?
If does fire, and it hits the attacking creature, can this save the Juggler (if it is enough to kill the attacker)?
If it can't save the Juggler but the ability fires, can it then still hit the attacker, if that would be killed by attacking the Juggler?
Am I over-thinking this?
Beware - an attack on a minion must be minion attacking your minion! I made the mistake of summoning a
against a mage only to have a hero ability one shot the buzzard. Later I had other minions out and the mage's
just swept another of my beasts off and the trap did not trigger.

When one of your minions is attacked, summon three 1/1 Snakes.
