When Vanish is cast, all minions (including summoned ones) are returned to their owners hands. If there is a swapped minion in play when this ability is cast, the minion will go to the hand of the player that is currently in control of it. If a player does not have room in his hand for any extra minions, they will be destroyed instead.
Minions are returned to a player’s hand in the order in which they were played.
If the resulting total number of cards in a player's hand is greater than 10, the minions over 10 will be destroyed. Any minion destroyed in this manner

Real talk, for a moment: that orc's face in the background of the golden one.
This card can be amazing, if you play it at just the right time.
Paladin just pooped out a ton of minions buffed up from his Sword of Justice? Vanish, there goes your buffs. And your entire last turn.
Hunter going for your face and buffed his minions up the wazoo? Kill the Tundra Rhino and Vanish. Sorry, mate, buff 'em up again.
You can even use it offensively. Put out a bunch of Battlecry minions (or Combo minions, like the Defias Ringleader), and Vanish to put them back into your hand and do it all over again.
Bonus points if you can get off Battlecry minions again,
screw over a Face Hunter's tempo.
I just discovered the offensive use of this card yesterday. I was playing against a shaman who had been casting a bunch of overload spells and using his mana mostly on
. Around turn 6 or 7 he dropped an
, at which point I used vanish intending to buy myself some more time. What actually happened was his totems filled up his hand and forced him to discard the Earth Elemental. Then on his turn he drew and was immediately forced to discard
. It's not every day you make a play that can be described as "unexpectedly clutch"!
