I expected the Battlecry of the copied minion to trigger, and it didn't. Bug, or intended at this point it isn't clear.
The summoned minion is an exact copy of the card that is played by the enemy player.
The effect of the copied minion does not trigger because the copied minion is not played from your hand.
The Battlecry of the minion being copied is resolved first, before Mirror Entity copies it. This means that
specific Battlecries are copied (the ones that buff/damage/transform the minion being summoned:
Druid of the Fang
, etc). To be absolutely clear, the Battlecry itself isn't copied, but the effects of the Battlecry are because they exist as a buff or otherwise on the minion being copied.
The card says "when opponent
a minion", and not "when opponent
a minion". The former is only when the opponent plays a minion from his hand. The latter is whenever the opponent's minion count goes up by 1. This is consistent across all cards that have these wordings.
For example, Mirror Entity will NOT trigger on
, since that is a spell and not a minion being played. The 2 resulting wolves were not played from the hand. The minion summoned by
's Deathrattle will not be copied. Neither will the minion that is put in play by
. As another example, Mirror Entity will copy
and not the
If your side of the board is full (7 minions), Mirror Entity will not trigger at all.
Card Specific Interactions
If a player has both
and Mirror Entity in play (in that order, obtained via
), when the opponent plays a minion with 4 or less HP, Snipe will first trigger and deal 4 damage to it, followed by Mirror Entity cloning the dying minion which has 0 or less HP. After that, both minions on each side of the board die. (Source:

The gold version of this card will make a golden copy of your opponent's minion
I like how in the artwork from the non-Golden card, the spell effect around the guy's hands are the same shape and alternating blue-orange colors that the Portal Gun uses in Portal from Valve.
It may be a sneaky reference or it just may be me making random connections...
Will trigger from

Not sure if intended.. but your Mirror Entity minion can attack immediately when it becomes your turn, since it was summoned during your opponent's turn.
You can't have two mirror entities at the same time. Or at least it won't let me.
My favorite mage's secret. Though in 50% I get some low level minion.
When enemy play
and copied a minion,
will copy what
has been transform
Example: if faceless copied
Ragnaros the Firelord
Ragnaros the Firelord
Something I've been learning after extensive laddering on my mage value-tempo deck: Mirror Entity gets countered fairly hard if your opponent is playing bad cards. While most 1 or 2 cost minions are generally undesirable to be copied, and are something you're likely to face in large quantities in aggro decks, some of them are passable - especially when the Mirror Entity has been free thanks to Mad Scientist or Kirin Tor Mage.
However, getting something terrible like a Goldshire Footman or Young Dragonhawk is cringe-worthy. I just played a paladin that 'countered' by him playing Goldshire Footman each time I had one out. And while playing a Goldshire Footman at all was a huge signal that my deck would win through sheer quality mismatch, dreams of Aldor Peacekeepers and Guardians of Kings vanished into nothingness.
What I wonder is if enemy mage has active
and 3 minions on board, will my
Mind Control Tech
trigger after the copy and steal 1 minion, or does effect take place before the mirror entity and there'll be no theft?
Warning: may ruin the board if
This mage secret should be nerfed.
when your opponent summons a minion, it summons a copy of said minion, as long as said minion is played from hand. Hero powers, spells that summon minions will not activate mirror image - but they will activate knife juggler or any other card that has a summon a minion condition. there seems to be no logical explanation for this. i am tired of being hit by knife juggler everytime a paladin uses hero power or a hunter activates a spell - then not benefiting from mirror entity on top of it. Card seems to have a seperate understanding of what summoning a minion means than any other card in the game.
When your opponent plays a minion, summon a copy of it.
