Obtaining the Card
This card is obtained by unlocking the Arachnid Quarter of Naxxramas and defeating the
for it. Specifically, this card is a reward from the achievement. The Class Challenge involves beating
Grand Widow Faerlina
with a special deck constructed by Blizzard that you must use.
Unlocking the Druid Challenge first requires you to defeat the entire Arachnid Quarter in Normal difficulty.
The golden version of this card can only be obtained by crafting, and only after obtaining the non-golden version of the card.
The non-golden version cannot be disenchanted. The golden version can be disenchanted.
This is a 2 part spell. The "destroy all minions" part, followed by the "summon 2/2
s to replace them" part.
The spell first kills all minions simultaneously (without doing damage). As the deaths are resolved in order of age, any
will also trigger in the order of age (the order the minions come into play). (Source:
2/2 Treants are then summoned in for each minion destroyed earlier.
Treants summoned in this way have summoning sickness. They do not have
, unlike the ones from
Force of Nature

This means that killing
via Poison Seeds will cause her Deathrattle to steal nothing, since there are no surviving minions to take control of. (Source:
The above (about Sylvanas stealing nothing) isn't strictly true, because another Deathrattle might occur before hers, and that Deathrattle could spawn a minion for her to steal.
This also means that killing
via Poison Seeds is not a board wipe. The Abomination triggers before the new treants spawn in. (Source: Ben Brode
Poison Seeds is notable for its ability to kill a

can be used as a followup enemy board wipe.
Power of the Wild
is sometimes used as a followup to ensure your Treants are bigger than the ones your enemy gets, and to bring them out of
However, the general consensus is that Poison Seeds is a fairly weak card. This is because it does not help you regain board control (which puts it in the same category as
). If you have less minions than the enemy, you still have less than the enemy after casting Poison Seeds, and your opponent has the initiative since you cannot immediately attack with any of the new 2/2 Treants or new minions spawned from triggering Deathrattles. If you have more minions that the enemy, then you generally don't need to use Poison Seeds to begin with.
This card could be interesting in combination with
and wipe the whole board & replace your opponents and your own minions with 2/2 Treants,
, which will revive of your minions which were killed earlier by
Or how about combining this card with
Soul of the Forest
which would basically double the number of your minions.
The Treants summoned by this card
are not able to attack the same turn they are summoned, even if the minions they replaced were ready to attack.
This prevents the spell from being useful for immediately bypassing Taunts (unless further minions with Charge are summoned), and strongly encourages the druid to make use of any available minions before using Poison Seeds. Also, note that the opponent's Treants will be able to attack immediately upon their turn.
Maybe not the best reset button, but this could be used with
to set the board in your favor late game.
