Because the 3 hero powers are considered DIFFERENT hero powers, you can use
, cast Shadowform, THEN use
all on the same turn. So even though you can't use any particular hero power more than once per turn, you can use two different hero powers once on the same turn.
Shadow Priest decks are still in their infancy in my opinion. There just aren't enough cards to support it right now. Shadowform easily makes your hero power trump all others though, at least the damaging ones. Throw in a second shadowform and
, and you've got a 2 mana
This might be the most golden card/ the best golden card in the game since it makes your hero ability golden through the whole game.
I've been trying two copies of this card again and have this to say about it:
It's a useful card, but is more or less strictly a card for picking off any low health minions in the mid-late game and onwards. This gives it a fairly small niche of usefulness. The mana cost and loss of tempo is too much of a price to pay for playing this card in the early game, so mulligan out of these if you see them in the opening draw. This is definitely a card you only want to see and play later on in the game. Once you make it there, the value of this card depends on how many turns you can do damage with the hero power against the opponent's board. A targetable 2 or even 3 damage hero power can really swing card advantage in your favor over the course of a long game. This is a good card in Arena much more so than Constructed for that reason.
Try to save playing your second Shadowform for the Hero Power -> Shadowform -> Hero Power trick. Nothing feels better than picking off a 2 health minion and a 3 health minion in the same turn, or possibly a 5 health minion without needing to use a precious damage spell or a minion's vitality. While this kind of play is certainly not mana efficient (costing 7 mana to do), it's card efficient. If a 2 and 3 health minion just happen to be on the other side of the board, this could be your best play to clear them regardless without having to ram one of your minions.
is still useful in a deck with Shadowform. While her effect is redundant in Shadowform with regards to the hero power, she is still effective in combination with
Earthen Ring Farseer
Circle of Healing
, cards I would recommend using regardless in a Shadowform deck. Her body on the field is also a nontrivial one and she's a scary turn 4 play while playing Shadowform at that stage is very ill advised. There's also the chance that you might not draw Shadowform but will draw Soulpriest, and will have to depend on her for a damaging hero power.
The loss of being able to heal yourself or minions hurts after playing Shadowform, especially if you depend on
in your deck for card draw. Consider cards like
, Circle of Healing, Earthen Ring Farseer etc. for backup healing and to activate Northshire Cleric's effect once you go into Shadowform.
If you use
becomes a 6 damage wrecking ball. As with all Prophet Velen combos, it's best to drop him in the same turn as you fire off a nuke as he tends not to last long on the field.
is an exciting new card for a Shadowform deck. If you have played a Shadowform, Vol'jin's effect will immediately put a minion in kill range of your hero power.
