This card is used in

. Attack for 9 damage. Play Void Terror, he becomes a 12/12 and you have one of your enemies minions.
The ability reminds me of the voidy's actual Sacrifice ability, though sacrificing others instead of itself in this version.
Tip: You can attack with the minions that are about to be sacrificed first, particularly if you can do so without the minions taking damage, THEN casting Void Terror to sacrifice them.
Also, one of the very few ways you can take advantage of that
you drafted because it was potentially more useful than Angry Chicken.

As for arena goes this is usually a bad card to draft since it is typically better to have a few weaker minions split up instead of one big strong minion that can be easily dealt with one or two cards, also, does anyone else realise that this as the exact same emotes as the core hound?

Only use this on minions with temporal stat boosts. That way, you can turn those stat gains into permanent ones. Otherwise, you are just merging more minions into one, which makes "party buffs" like
less effective and makes you more vulnerable to removal. The only exception is using this on
, which is otherwise worthless unless you manage to give him taunt.
With the release of Naxxramas' Arachnid Wing, and the new playable cards
, Void Terror has a new lease on life - particularly in zoolock decks. Many zoolock decks now have enough enablers that running it can be quite effective - and as an added bonus, both he and the egg act as enablers for each other (and if you live the dream and get turn 2 Egg, turn 3 Terror you get a 4/4 and a 3/5 as your 2 and 3 drops).
Normal zoolock cards that outright enable Void Terror (that is, they allow him to get buffed without you actually losing ground):
Then of course is the fact that you can simply use him to eat other minions that have become redundant. Essentially, you have 6 cards now in many zoolock decks that allow him to be played with plenty of upside and minimal downside, and then you can still play him at other times if the situation calls for it (and on empty board he's still a 3/3 for 3, which is passable).
As an example, I recently played a game against a druid who had out an Ancient of War set to taunt, against my up-to-16 power on board. He was on 8 life while I was on about 17, so he was fairly close to death. He had no cards in hand; I had Void Terror and Leper Gnome. I could have suicided all but one of my minions into the Ancient (unfortunately, I didn't have the right attack totals to get 10 damage from 2), but then my Void Terror at best would have been a 5/5, and my only minion on the board. Instead, I decided to Void Terror my 3/1 (thanks to Dire Wolf Alpha) Leper Gnome that was already out, and 5/3 Doomguard and make an 11/7 Void Terror (then pumped to 12/7, again due to the Alpha) that could eat the tree without dying. This left me with 3 minions on board, and although I'd lose one to the tree - unless it attacked me - the board state was much stronger. Incidentally, he drew Ancient Watcher on his next turn, and then on his final turn afterwards he drew nothing that could save him.
As of Naxxramas, this card has suddenly gained a whole load of value in constructed. Simply put, it triggers deathrattles. More specifically, it triggers the deathrattle of the Nerubian Egg. 2 Nerubian Eggs, Power Overwhelming on one of them and then Void terror gets you 2 4/4s and a 7/11 potentially on turn 4 if you're really lucky, which will put you at a ridiculous advantage. Even if the Void Terror gets sheeped or hexed, you still have the nerubians for the enemy to deal with. You won't havemany cards in your hand of course but you're playing a Warlock! Use that hero power of yours.
